Prof. Joanna Madalińska-Michalak, vice-president of INASED, received a prestigious award

We are happy to announce that Prof. Dr Joanna Madalińska-Michalak received the award from the Institute De Republica in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the social sciences and international activities.

Insitute De Republica recognises outstanding Polish scientists who, through their work, overall scientific achievements and international activities, are a source of inspiration for young generations. The distinction awarded by the Institute De Republica is both honorary and educational, providing a better insight into the research and oeuvre of Polish scientists. Prof. Joanna Madalińska-Michalak is a full Professor of Social Sciences (Education, Education Research), Distinguished Professor at the University of Warsaw, a Honorary Professor at Aarhus University, Denmark, and a Visiting Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. She has a long-standing research and consultancy experience in the fields of teacher education, teachers’ learning and development, teachers’ professionalism and ethics, and educational leadership. Currently, she is an editor of a Brill Book series entitled: “Key Issues in Teacher Education: Research, Policy and Practice”, and a member of the editorial board of a Springer Book series entitled: “Evidence, Science and Public Good in Education”; she is a Chief-Editor of the Faculty of Education University of Warsaw scientific journal “Kwartalnik Pedagogiczny”.

Joana is an expert at the European Research Funding 7th Framework Programme (2007-2013). Currently, she is an expert of The European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA): Erasmus+ Programme Jean Monnet, Erasmus+ Programme Teachers Academies. She has expertise in leading global, international, and national scientific organisations: a vice-president of International Association of Educators (INASED), a member of the Board of Directors of International Council of Education for Teaching (ICET, since 2017), a member of Council Board of European Educational Research Association (EERA, since 2008), a representative of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science in European Network on Teacher Education Policy, ENTEP (since 2018), a Vice-President of World Education Research Association (WERA, 2018-2022), a President of Polish Educational Research Association (PERA, 2014-2019), Chair of Teacher Education Policy in Europe Scientific Network (TEPE, 2016-2020), and a member of the Executive Body of the Board of Scientific Associations at the Polish Academy of Science (since 2017).
